Utkal University, Bhubaneswar celebrated its Platinum Jubilee from 23rd to 27th November 2019 at Biju Patnaik Sports Complex, Vanibihar, Bhubaneswar. Shri Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Odisha, inaugurated the celebrations on 23rd Nov 2019. Dr. C.B. Satpathy was the Chief Guest during the Parents Connect programme held on 25th Nov 2019. In his keynote address, he outlined five essential components for the progress of the university, i.e., finance, administration, discipline, research and students. He said that change is not possible without taking pains and teachers, students and parents should view the questions arising in the mind of children as problems for which we need to find solutions rather than regarding them as a form of protest. The Registrar, Dr. Dayanidhi Nayak, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Soumendra Mohan Patnaik, Vice-Chairman of State Higher Education Council, Prof Ashok Das and the Higher Education Minister, Shri Arun Sahu were among the dignitaries who were present.
