The first four lines of Shri Guru Bhagwat were written in Odia language by Dr. C. B. Satpathyji on the day of Kartik Purnima in the year 2001. Thus, Kartik Purnima became the 'Janma Tithi' or the birthday of Shri Guru Bhagwat. Since then, the epic treatise has been published in eight volumes in Odia. It contains more than 34000 lines with each line having nine letters. Some of the volumes have been translated into eleven Indian languages and also in English. The Shri Guru Bhagwat Janma Tithi was celebrated globally by various Trusts and Temples. Activities like Shri Guru Bhagwat Parayan, Recitation and ‘Akhand Paath’ (24 Hours) were conducted in places like Dallas, Seattle, Belleview, Arizona, Santa Barbara and Minnesota in USA, as well as in Canberra, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand. It was also celebrated in several places in India such as Puri, Iginia, Tankapani Road, Bhubaneswar, Sambalpur, Keunjhar, Baripada, Gopalpur, Cuttack, Charpali, Aathagarh, Nuagaon, Shyampur in Odisha, Danapur, Chakradharpur, Naubatpur and Patna in Bihar, Guwahati and Nagaon in Assam, several places in Delhi, Gurugram in Haryana, Raipur in Chhattisgarh, Noida,  Moradabad, Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, Pune in Maharastra, Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, Chennai and Hosur in Tamil Nadu and Cochin in Kerala. In Sai Ka Aangan, Gurgaon the seven volumes of Shri Guru Bhagawat in Odia were taken to the Sabha Mandap in the traditional procession where they were sung. This was followed by Shabad Kirtan.

A Punjabi YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10TOFMKDjFY ) for broadcasting Punjabi translations of verses from Shri Guru Bhagwat (originally composed in Odia by Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathyji) was started on this day.
